my blog. I'm no longer going to be posting here and instead will be solely at Vegan Wannabe until the end of time. Or something to that effect.
Hope to see you there!
P.S. The San Francisco SPCA is no longer a NO KILL Shelter. :-(

Maxine's Dash for Freedom
My vegan work friend sent me this video which reaffirms that animals would rather live in peace than be eaten.
Who said "If slaughterhouses had windows we'd all be vegetarians"? Coz we should add the egg and dairy industry and we'd all be vegan!

Love Animals, Don't Eat Them
I think I've mentioned that I've been wanting to go Vegan and I'm getting closer and closer to it, but I guess I've just been feeling like if I can't do it perfectly then I shouldn't even bother. Of course, that's stupid thinking coz it's not like I'd drive an SUV just because I can't fix global warming.
Anyhoo, I'm mostly vegan now, although I do still have some leather shoes and I mess up every now and then when I eat something not knowing it has animal products in it. It's a learning curve though and I'll get better as I keep doing it so I'm going to stop beating myself up and just do the best I can and encourage others to do the same.
Speaking of which, I work with a lovely fellow who has recently gone from vegetarian to vegan along with his girlfriend and he's given me lots of advice and support. He also recommended a wonderful documentary that I just watched tonight called Peaceable Kingdom which was just amazing and heartbreaking and inspiring and incredible. I totally bawled, but it really did push me to just say fuck it and really commit to doing my best to live vegan and not be a partner in any way to the harm, torture or destruction of animals. They might not be cute, cuddly little kittens, but even the homeliest animals deserve to live a peaceful, happy life.
There are some really, really disturbing, heartbeaking scenes to watch, but I'd highly recommend it if you can get your hands on a copy.
Honestly. Go Vegan! Millions of animals are harmed, mistreated, and killed for eggs and milk too. Just because they aren't killed (right away) doesn't mean they aren't suffering and living horribly tortured lives. Besides, there are millions of other delicious things to eat that no one has to suffer or die for.

3rd Annual SF Walk Against Rape
It's not really a flattering photo, but I was the highest fundraiser for the 3rd year in a row. Woohoo! Thanks to all of my wonderful, generous friends who helped me EXCEED my goal to raise $2851. You're the best!
